HOUSTON (Aug. 13, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC today launched the highly anticipated Adidas Archive Kit, inspired by Houston’s kits during the inaugural 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup championship seasons, as well as the Houston Astrodome, home of the first professional soccer match played in Houston in 1967.
The jersey reflects the journey that has shaped the team, its fans and the city of Houston, providing opportunities to honor the moments, memories and unwavering pride that have defined their shared story. It serves as a tribute to the legacy built together and the enduring connection between the team and the community that has stood behind it every step of the way and into the future.
“Two decades ago, the Dynamo earned Houston its first MLS Cup championship and set in motion a winning tradition that continues to shape our Club today,” said HDFC Chief Marketing Officer Graham Wincott. “The unveiling of this Archive Collection provides us with a special opportunity to celebrate that history and honor the players, coaches and staff who helped build the foundation of this Club. As we welcome members of that inaugural team back to Houston for this weekend’s 2006 Championship Celebration Night, we look forward to sharing this moment with our supporters and celebrating the legacy, pride and memories that continue to connect generations of Dynamo fans.”

Each unique feature of the Archive Kit was carefully considered to pay homage to the rich championship-winning history of the Club in the city of Houston:
- The Pattern – Inspired by the iconic Astrodome roof, the pattern pays tribute to the world’s first domed stadium and the cradle of Houston sports. From historic international matches to generations of Houston soccer clubs, it honors the foundation that helped the game flourish in our city, and the home of the first professional soccer match ever played in Houston, back in 1967, between Real Madrid and West Ham United.
- Original Crest – The original Houston Dynamo crest returns as a tribute to the Club’s foundation and its back-to-back MLS Cup championships in 2006 and 2007.
- Silver Monogram – The Championship Silver “HD” monogram honors the Club’s championship legacy while looking towards the next era of Houston soccer.
- The Wordmark – Rooted in the typography of the 2006 alternate kit, the refined “Houston” wordmark bridges the Club’s origins with its modern identity.
- Retro MLS Badge – The vintage MLS bade honors the league’s beginnings while celebrating the continued growth of the Club, League and the game in the United States.
Dynamo fans will have their first opportunity to purchase their own Archive Kit today between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Team Shop at Shell Energy Stadium, while 5:00 p.m. will see special appearances from 2006/2007 Dynamo alumni Wade Barrett, Kelly Gray and Kevin Goldthwaite. The Team Shop will also be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday and throughout matchday on Saturday, Aug. 15.

Fans can customize their jerseys with their favorite Dynamo player’s name and number or other personal options at the Team Shop. Fans can also find the new kit on MLSStore.com.
The club also introduced several merchandise items to include in the Archive Line, including t-shirts, hats, scarves and more, all featuring the original 2006 Dynamo imagery, crest and colors. Fans can pick up these items at the Houston Dynamo Team Shop.
To support the launch of the Archive Kit, the team enlisted Dynamo alumni legends Wade Barrett, Brian Ching and Dwayne De Rosario, along with current Dynamo players Artur, Mateusz Bogusz, Lawrence Ennali, Guilherme and Héctor Herrera, for a video to celebrate the tremendous legacy of the team and highlight the inspiration from past kits that inspired this special Dynamo look. Fans can watch the full video HERE.
Houston will first showcase the Archive Kits during 2006 Championship Celebration Night, presented by Ford, at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 15, as the Dynamo host the LA Galaxy and celebrate one of the most memorable seasons in team history. Twenty years after capturing the Club’s first MLS Cup championship, the Dynamo will welcome back members of the 2006 title-winning team for a special halftime ceremony recognizing the players, coaches and staff who helped establish Houston as a championship club. Fans in attendance will relive unforgettable moments from the 2006 season through exclusive video features, in-stadium tributes and championship highlights celebrating one of the defining eras in club history. Fans can secure their tickets for this special match, including the limited-edition replica championship ring ticket add-on, via Tixr HERE.
On Friday, Aug. 14, at 8:00 p.m., fans can also look forward to Legends & Lore at Pitch 25 (2120 Walker Street, Houston, TX 77003), where members of the 2006 MLS Cup championship team and Houston Dynamo supporters will come together to relive some of their favorite, unfiltered and potentially previously untold, memories from the Club’s inaugural season in Houston. This rare, candid journey will take attendees into the heart and soul of the team, with unscripted stories told by the very players who lived it. Fans can secure their tickets HERE. Additional Archive Kits will be available for purchase at this event.
Notably, the Dynamo are in strong form and currently only two points from first place in the Western Conference after earning three consecutive shoutout victories. Houston has not conceded a goal in nearly 300 minutes and have been the top team in the MLS Western Conference over the last 12 league matches, compiling an 8-2-2 record for 26 points over that stretch.
