SG1 Soccer Club honored to be participating in FREEKICKS Soccer Initiative
Houston, Texas (February 27, 2026) – SG1 Soccer Club is proud to stand at the forefront of the FREEKICKS Soccer initiative, a transformational legacy project launched by the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Houston Host Committee.
The FREEKICKS Program represents a long-term investment in opportunity — bringing 23 newly built and revitalized soccer fields to communities across Houston and Harris County and opening doors for thousands of young athletes who deserve access to the game.

As one of five selected youth clubs entrusted to lead programming at these locations, SG1 Soccer will deliver training, structured development pathways, and meaningful mentorship directly into communities that need it most.
Together, participating clubs will commit significant resources toward scholarships, facility care, and long-term program sustainability — ensuring that financial barriers no longer determine who gets to play.

“At SG1, our mission has always been to develop players both on and off the field while creating opportunities for growth through the game,” said Alex Parra, Club Operations Director. “The FREEKICKS initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to expanding access, strengthening our community, and inspiring the next generation of athletes.”
SG1 Soccer is honored to be part of a movement that is not just growing the game — but redefining access to it.
