The Houston Dash host Seattle Reign FC in Week 17 of the NWSL season on Sunday (6:00 p.m. CT kickoff) at Shell Energy Stadium.

The Dash return home following a dramatic 2-1 road win against Gotham FC in a weather-delayed match where, once again, Houston had to battle from behind. Houston are now in 11th in the standings and fighting to climb the table as the postseason race tightens.

Seattle enters the contest after a thrilling 3-3 draw against the Chicago Red Stars, and currently sits in sixth place, keeping pace in the playoff picture.

Adding to the week’s headlines, local talent Barbara Olivieri was officially transferred to Boston Legacy and immediately loaned to Mexican side Tigres Femenil — reuniting with former Dash teammates Diana Ordóñez and María Sánchez. Her move reflects both the growth of international opportunities for players and the ongoing connections between the NWSL and Liga MX Femenil.

Broadcast Information

The match is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. CT kickoff and will be televised on NWSL+ (simulcast on Paramount+) and streaming in Spanish on DeportesNation.com, our mobile app, and across our social media channels with coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Players to Watch

Houston Dash

  • Michelle Alozie (Forward): Fresh off international success, Alozie’s scored the match-winning goal against Gotham.
  • Sophie Schmidt (Midfielder): The veteran midfielder has scored two late goals in the past three games.
  • Jane Campbell (Goalkeeper): With her shot-stopping ability, Campbell will be crucial against Seattle’s high-powered forwards.

Seattle Reign FC

  • Jess Fishlock (Midfielder): A Reign legend, Fishlock brings creativity, intensity, and leadership and scored against Chicago.

Key Game Points

  • Home struggles: Houston must find a way to secure points at Shell Energy Stadium if they hope to make it to the playoffs.
  • Playoff race pressure: Seattle needs to stay inside the playoff line, making this a high-stakes matchup.
  • Dash resilience: Houston has shown grit by battling back in games but must start stronger to avoid chasing from behind.

Possible Outcomes

  • Houston win: Would energize fans, give the Dash a rare home victory, and keep faint playoff hopes alive.
  • Seattle win: Strengthens the Reign’s playoff position while deepening Houston’s struggles at home.
  • Draw: A likely scenario given both teams’ recent form, but it would feel like a missed opportunity for Seattle and put Houston in a danger zone of missing post-season.
