BREAKING NEWS (Mar. 1, 2025 at 4:22 p.m.) – The Miami Herald reports that Lionel Messi did not travel to Houston with Inter Miami for Sunday’s match. ESPN, and Deporte Total USA have also confirmed.

Lionel Messi is not coming to Houston for the first time in MLS action, as his Inter Miami CF takes on the hometown Dynamo on Apple TV’s Sunday Night Soccer.

The 20,656-capacity Shell Energy Stadium, located on the outside edge of Downtown Houston, made supply hard to come by, with the get-in price at around $200 per person. The caveat is that other former FC Barcelona stars like Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suárez are also expected to feature for the Florida club, making it a showcase of stars in Space City.

Houston Dynamo forward Ezequiel Ponce and Inter Miami CF striker Luis Suárez feature on this promotional material from MLS.

Whether you’ve been to a Houston Dynamo match before or if it’s your first time, here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming encounter that will go down as one of the most important in the city’s soccer history:

How much are tickets for Houston Dynamo vs. Inter Miami?

As of Friday, the lowest priced box office ticket was $217, including fees, in the last row of the second level. Re-sale prices begin around the same range on SeatGeek, the club’s official ticketing partner. We recommend getting your tickets there to ensure you’ll receive them in time for kickoff.

Other re-sale services like Ticketmaster and StubHub offer similar prices but are not the primary re-sale partner, meaning tickets may have to be transferred to a SeatGeek account with the same e-mail address used for purchase – a process that could be delayed if you buy last minute.

Parking and transportation to a Houston Dynamo game

The cheapest parking you will find around Shell Energy Stadium on gameday will be on nearby streets. Houston street parking is FREE on Sundays and will be in high demand, so the sooner you arrive, the better your chances to walk less.

  • Houston Dynamo HQ – 413 Bastrop St
  • Avenida North Garage – 701 Avenida de las Americas

One of those visits came last summer for the Copa America quarterfinals, where Messi and La Albiceleste trained at Shell Energy Stadium, the site of Sunday’s marquee match.

This would be the first time Messi dons the Inter Miami kit in H-Town and the first time he suits up against the Houston Dynamo.
