HOUSTON – The Houston Dynamo took part in its first training of the year as players reported for preseason.
The status of Tuesday’s training session was up in the air due to the winter freeze moving through the region. Shortly after noon, the team came out to its second practice field to start its first practice ahead of the 2024 Major League Soccer season.
Only the first portion was open to members of the media. The team has a full training session open for local media on Wednesday followed by press conferences with GM Pat Onstad, Head Coach Ben Olsen, Team Captain and midfielder Hector Herrera, and goalkeeper Steve Clark.
A list of the preseason roster revealed two notable jersey changes: winger Nelson Quinones will take the no. 7 shirt while forward Sebastian Ferreira will don #11 instead of his previous ‘9’ after returning from a loan to Brazilian side Vasco do Gama.
