HOUSTON (Sept. 1, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC have transferred midfielder Jack McGlynn to EFL Championship side Stoke City FC in England’s second division, both clubs announced today.
“We are grateful for Jack’s contributions to the Dynamo and proud of the strides he made during his time in Houston,” said Dynamo President of Soccer Pat Onstad. “When we signed Jack to the club, we committed to work with him to fulfill his dream of continuing his career in Europe. While the timing of this move is not ideal for the Club, it is important that we honor our commitments to our players. We wish Jack every success in the next step of his career.”
McGlynn joined Houston in February 2025 in the first ever cash-for-player trade for a Homegrown player in MLS history. The 23-year-old totaled 44 MLS appearances for the Dynamo, scoring eight goals and recording 14 assists.
Houston currently sits second in the Western Conference with 39 points and a 12-7-3 (WLD) record. Over the past 16 matches, the Dynamo have posted a 10-3-3 (WLD) record for 33 points over that stretch. Notably, Houston recently tied a league-record with a five-match shutout victory streak and held opponents scoreless for an impressive 485 minutes, the second-longest run over the last decade for the Dynamo.
