The Houston Dash host San Diego Wave FC in Week 12 of the NWSL season on Friday at Shell Energy Stadium.

The Dash will be aiming for its fourth win of the season after a heartbreaking 1‑0 road defeat to the Orlando Pride, conceding in stoppage time. Sitting 12th in the league with 11 points, Houston is desperate to regain some positive momentum.

Though their recent form shows cracks after a 2‑1 loss to Seattle Reign FC, the Wave will be eager to get back on track and claim another big result.

With former Dash star María Sánchez in the squad, San Diego Wave arrive in Houston in solid shape as the fourth place team in the standings.

Broadcast Information

The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. CT kickoff and will be televised on Paramount+, CBS Sports Golazo Network, and NWSL+.

Deportes Nation will have the Spanish audio broadcast on DeportesNation.com, our mobile app, and across our social media channels.

Players to Watch

Houston Dash

  • Bárbara Olivieri: She has great ball control and vision along with resistance as well a lot of heart. She has been a consistent player for the team in 2025.
  • Yazmeen Ryan: After a short hiatus due to an eye injury the striker is back to action at home. She is a visionary that can see where there is space to score this will be vital against a strong team like the Wave.
  • Paige Nielsen: As evidenced by the NWSL charts, San Diego Wave is a team that knows how to score and having an experienced defensive player like Nielsen will be essential for the Dash.

San Diego Wave FC

  • Delphine Cascarino: A six-time UEFA Women’s Champions League with Lyon, Cascarino tied Kimmi Ascanio and Adriana Leon as the Wave’s leading scorer this season, bring her tally to three goals with the match-tying goal against Seattle.
  • Adriana Leon: A new offseason signing who’s bursting with confidence, the Canada women’s national team star recently earned Player of the Week honors after a recent brace.
  • María Sánchez: Once the golden child for the Houston Dash. Sánchez has had some good goals with her current team. It may also be one of her last games with the Wave with rumors surging about a potential return to Liga MX Femenil side Tigres UANL – and a potential reunion with former Dash teammate Diana Ordóñez.

Key Points

  • Houston’s defensive resilience: The Dash must contain San Diego’s dynamic striking potential.
  • Can the Dash seize momentum? With home advantage and breakout performances like in prior games Houston can reclaim confidence.
  • Midfield battle: The clash in the middle will decide territorial control and tempo.

Match Theme: Pride Night

Celebrate Pride with themed merch, photo ops, and fan-favorite activations like the Dash Bash Salon and Friendship Bracelet station—all with a Pride twist. The first fans through the gate on June 13 will receive Pride-inspired car magnets.

Since 2016, the Dash has proudly hosted Pride Night and partnered with local LGBTQ+ organizations for over a decade.
