The road to the championship is set for the Apertura 2024 season in Liga MX.

Following the conclusion of the regular season on Sunday, the seeding for each postseason berth has been defined.

Teams ranked one through sixth automatically advance to the quarterfinals. The bottom four teams from the top ten will participate in the Play-In round to determine the last two quarterfinalists.

No. 7 Club Tijuana will host No. 8 Club América, and the winner will advance to meet the second seed, Toluca FC.

In the other single-game elimination, No. 9 CD Guadalajara will host No. 10 Atlas in a playoff edition of the Clásico Tapatío, the Guadalajara derby. The winner will face the loser of Tijuana vs. América, potentially setting up a national Clásico between América and Chivas to determine the last quarterfinalist and opponent of first-place Cruz Azul.

The following are the quarterfinal series:

  • #1 Cruz Azul vs. second Play-In berth winner
  • #2 Toluca FC vs. first Play-In berth winner
  • #3 Tigres UANL vs. #6 Atlético de San Luis
  • #4 Pumas UNAM vs. #5 CF Monterrey

Teams will face each other in a two-leg series from the quarterfinals through the finals. The higher seed will host the second encounter. As a reward for the regular season, the higher-seeded team holds the tiebreaker to advance if a series ends tied on aggregate.
