MIAMI — The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup will be played west of the Mississippi River.
The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) announced the venues for the next edition of its premier international tournament on Wednesday.
The 18th edition will take place in 14 stadiums across 11 major metropolitan areas in the United States and Canada. U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, PayPal Park in San Jose, California and BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia will host the tournament for the first time.
For only the fourth time ever, the competition will take place without an east coast venue. The first three editions (1991, 1993, and 1996) were the only times the tournament was not hosted on the east coast.
The lack of eastern venues signals that the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted in the U.S. around the same timeframe, will take place among those cities. FIFA has yet to announce the host cities for its expanded 32-club championship.
