CHICAGO – The United States men’s national team roster for Mauricio Pochettino’s first January camp has been revealed.
The USMNT features 23 players from Major League Soccer, the top-flight league based in the U.S., partly due to the upcoming matches taking place outside of a FIFA international match window. The U.S. will face Venezuela on Jan. 18 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida followed by Costa Rica on Jan. 22 in Orlando.
Tim Ream (66 appearances), Walker Zimmerman (41), Miles Robinson (30), Zack Steffen (29), Jesús Ferreira (23), and Shaq Moore (19) highlight the names of veterans on the call-up list. Ream, Zimmerman, Ferreira, and Moore were part of the previous FIFA World Cup squad at Qatar 2022.
Seven players earned their first summons to USMNT camp: Patrick Agyemang, Max Arfsten, George Campbell, Emeka Eneli, Brian Gutiérrez, Matko Milijevic, and Indiana Vassilev. These form part of 10 names on the roster that could make their USMNT debuts.
