PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of Texas women’s soccer program won 1-nil against the South Carolina Gamecocks in the final of the 2024 SEC Soccer Tournament on Sunday at Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola Florida.
The victory gives Texas its first SEC championship since joining the conference.
Carly Montgomery scored the lone goal of the encounter in the 80th minute, connecting with a header on a corner kick service by Lexi Missimo.
The conquest also marks the second conference tournament title under head coach Angela Kelly, who reached 150 wins with the program in the semifinals. Kelly previously won four SEC tournaments with the Tennessee Volunteers, bringing her a fifth SEC tournament championship as a coach.
